Spring is in the air

With several days of unseasonably warm and sunny weather I have been able to work outside.
I started by smoking a burnished ceramic 'pod' which I had made to hold 'sprouts' of wood which I made from some more off-cuts of yew. After lots of elbow grease, the 'sprouts' and their 'pod' were completed...

I also used the good weather as an opportunity to plant up a new sempervivum planter

One and a half times around the world!

For Christmas we sent a needlepoint kit out to our daughter Katy, who is living and studying in Wellington, New Zealand. She has since has great fun completing the design, but posted the completed tapestry back to me in Reading to make into a cushion cover.

I will now post the completed cover back to New Zealand; by the time Katy gets it the tapestry will have travelled one and a half times around the world, a well travelled tapestry!
